Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev highly appreciated the establishment of the office. He believed that it is a timely initiative for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the President, Vietnam is one of Bulgaria’s important partners and a strategic partnership for expanding markets in Southeast Asia and Asia.
Bulgarian enterprises wish to invest in Vietnam and cooperate with local businesses in all areas of mutual concern. Enhancing economic cooperation will raise the bilateral trade turnover from US$60 million to US$500 million in coming times.
The City People’s Committee Vice Chairperson Nguyen Thi Hong hoped that the inauguration of the office will boost bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries.
On the same day, President of Bulgaria and his high level delegation visited the historical relic site of Cu Chi underground tunnels.
In related news, Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of HCMC, received a delegation of Japanese enterprises led by Kohei Watanabe, Chairman of the Mekong-Japan Business Committee on October 31.
Chairman Quan hoped that Japanese businesses will continue to cooperate and support Vietnamese enterprises.
Mr. Kohei Watanabe said that Ho Chi Minh City is attracting many foreign investments from countries around the world. The City should now build a general planning strategy for environment, economy, society and infrastructure to draw more investors.
