The water level at the Phu An Station is forecast to reach 1.64m, highest-ever in history, at 5:30pm on October 20, according to the Southern Hydro-meteorological Forecast Center.
If it happens, it will surpass the record of 1.62m last October.
The southern region, Ho Chi Minh City included, is expected to suffer high tides for many days, the center said.
