The Vietnam Food Administration under the Ministry of Health announced on October 26 that many samples of milk taken from roadside eateries in Ho Chi Minh City contained dangerous microscopic organisms.
The health administration had taken 16 samples of milk from sidewalk restaurants in Districts 1, 3, 5, Tan Binh, Binh Thanh and Go Vap which all tested positive for harmful bacteria.
Test results showed that one sample of full fat powdered milk had no bacteria while ten other samples, including soybean and green bean milk, had harmful bacteria including coliform and mildew.
Though there was no trace of heavy metals and aspartame.
