The company has paid special attention to fire prevention and fighting (FPF).
Active fire prevention
Pha Lai Thermal Power JSC. has set up a professional FPF team of 20 people fully equipped with firefighting equipment, means, knowledge, and skills.
To be prepared for any contingency, the team always maintains forces on the watch for FPF with three shifts and four groups, in which each group on duty consists of five members.
The company annually coordinates with the Police Department for FPF, Salvage, and Rescue (Provincial Public Security) to organize FPF training courses for the whole staff and make FPF plans with fire scenarios at each position and section for the professional FPF team and workers to practise.
The company has invested hundreds of million dong in building quays convenient to take water for fire fighting.
Every production line is fitted up with a firefighting water pump station, a self-propelled pump system, backup pumps, and a fire alarm system.
There are fire notices, firefighting orders, and firefighting equipment at key places prone to fires and explosions.
The company has a modern specialized fire-truck allocated to the company’s professional FPF team for operation.
The company has installed 274 hydrants, 93 fireplugs, 62 barrels and tanks containing sand for firefighting; prepared 527 CO2 fire extinguishers, 620 foam fire extinguishers, 9 ericter wheeled fire extinguishers, 15 powder wheeled fire extinguishers, 42 other fire extinguishers, 158 firefighting shovels, etc.
Timely rescue
Besides caring about implementing FPF task at the unit, the company is also active in giving FPF assistance to areas inside and outside the province.
Typically, the company’s FPF team on the dawn of September 15 was involved in firefighting at Hai Duong Trade Center (Hai Duong city).
The group in charge of the third watch of the professional FPF team was ordered to give firefighting assistance at around 4.30 am.
It was still dark then, and it was a great distance, but the fire-truck and the fire-brigade still quickly set off.
Around one hour later, the truck arrived at the scene and actively participated in firefighting. The company’s fire-truck only paused when the fire was under control and stopped when ordered.
Recently, after receiving a rescue support order at about 3.30 am of 19 September, the group on watch of the FPF team quickly set off to join the fight against a forest fire near the Chu Van An temple relic (Chi Linh).
Thanks to the modernly equipped truck plus experiences, expertise, and enthusiasm of the firefighting workers, the fire was brought under control. Not until 3.30 pm did the firemen return after completing their mission.
There was not any fire or explosion incident at Pha Lai Thermal Power JSC. last year due to the company’s fulfillment of the FPF work.
The company has been repeatedly rewarded for this work by levels and branches.
