PANO – Despite torrential rains, cadres and troops stationed in the central region have headed to areas hit by Storm N.10 (Wutip) to help local people cope with the devastation of the storm.


Troops helped evacuate more than 50 households in Ganh village, in Hai Duong commune, Huong Tra district to a safe area, while reinforcing sea dykes.


Meanwhile, border guards of Da Nang city instructed 1,559 vessels to safe docking locations, brought other 500 vessels ashore and assisted local people in protecting their houses.


In Quang Ngai Province, the provincial border guards have kept contact with 180 trawlers with 3,350 workers fishing offshore Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago. In Quang Nam Province, more than 700 trawlers were guided to take refuge, while 89 trawlers fishing in the waters of Truong Sa Archipelago are keeping contact with local border guards.


Troops and vehicles of Naval Region 3 are also ready to be engaged in search and rescue missions.
