(VOV) – Vietnam’s third Cultural Festival opened in Daejeon, the Republic of Korea (RoK) on October 27 with the participation of thousands of Vietnamese living and studying in the country.
This is one of major activities to mark the 21st anniversary of Vietnam- RoK diplomatic ties between Vietnamese residents and Korean people.
Participants in the opening ceremony observed one minute’s silence in memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
In his speech Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Manh Dong expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in the RoK will promote their spirit of mutual support and assistance.
The Vietnamese Labour Management Office in the RoK under the Employment Permit System (EPS) program had an exchange with Vietnamese guest workers to learn about their living and working conditions and their wishes for protection of legitimate rights.
