Truong Thi May has ranked first in the top 16 for the most promising contestants on missosology.org, a well-known international pageant forum on October 4.
Missosology's hot picks The Hot Picks for Miss Universe 2013 lists the most talked about and promising contestants to other candidates.
Truong Thi May was chosen with candidates from other countries that are well-known for their beauty queens, such as Venezuela, Italy and Ukraine.
After the list was published, many sent their congratulations, while others said Vietnam should not become too excited yet, and instead take this pick as a motive to try harder. In 2010, Diem Huong was also included in the top picks for the Miss Earth Contest and in 2011, Truc Diem was a top pick for Miss International Contest, but they did not bring home the crown.
On the other hand, Truong Thi May is quite popular and her fans strongly supported her when May’s representatives asked the Department of Performing Arts permission to enter her into the contest. However, the department has not replied yet.
By the end of October, about 90 beauties from all over the world will gather in Russia to begin the contest.
