Six antiques worth billions of dong displayed at Hoa Khiem Palace in Tomb of King Tu Duc in Hue were stolen, informed by Mai Xuan Vinh, vice director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre on November 8.
According to a local antique expert, the pair of incense burners is currently worth more than VND2 billion (US$94,340) and each jar costs up to millions of VND.
Vinh said at the time the exhibits were stolen, 5 members of the tomb’s security team were on working, one of them slept in Hoa Khiem Palace. He also added that teh tomb is not equipped anti-theft devices.
A source tells Tuoi tre that there are evidences showing the security guards were attacked with chloroform.
