17 SEA Games sports selected for live broadcast
Up to 17 of the total 33 disciplines at the 2013 SEA Games will be broadcast live, according to an announcement by the Games’ organising board in Myanmar on Wednesday.
Speaking at the second international conference on the Games coverage, Vietnam Television (VTV) said they had the copyright to broadcast the event live.
The organising board also announced 460 events will take place as part of the 27th SEA Games, running from December 1-22.
U16 Vietnam enters SEA Football Champs’ semi-finals
The Vietnamese football team easily thrashed Brunei 11-0 in its final match of the U16 Southeast Asia (SEA) Football Championships on August 28.
It scored 5 goals in the first half and 6 more goals in the second half.
With this convincing victory, the team fullyqualifies for the semi-finals which will be held on August 31.
In another match, U16 Myanmar beat Cambodia 2-1.
Thai Son Nam disqualified from AFC Futsal Club Champs
Vietnam’s Thai Son Nam team has failed to earn a ticket to the semi-finals of the AFC Futsal Club Championships in Japan.
It lost 1-6 in its group A match with Lebanon’s Al Sadaka team on August 29.
Despite its failure, the Vietnamese team has learnt a lot of experience in tactics in preparation for the 2013 Southeast Asian Futsal Championships.
Hector says goodbye to Song Lam Nghe An
Midfielder Hughtun Hector has decided to leave Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) after only two seasons with the club, according to goal.com/vn.
Hector joined SLNA in 2012 after leaving W Connection club.
He did not secure a single title in his two years with SLNA.
Goal.com reported that other teams are offering Hector up to US$10,000 per month but the star has confirmed he will decide his future in the league after he returns from his hometown.
HCM City take charge at nat’l shooting event
HCM City took top place at the National Youth Shooting Championships which closed in Ha Noi yesterday.
After six days of competitions, HCM City pocketed 11 gold medals. Hosts Ha Noi, with the highest numbers of athletes, came second, earning eight golds, followed by the Military team with five golds.
According to Nguyen Duc Uynh, general secretary of the Viet Nam Shooting Federation, the organisers had carefully checked the quality of the athletes and the training activities of all teams.
Uynh, head of the National Shooting-Archery Department, said also that archers who achieved high scores would be called to the national team for coming tournaments.
