Ministry plans to send young doctors to remote districts

The Ministry of Health plans to send 500 young doctors to distant districts to improve the quality of medical care in disadvantaged areas.


The ministry introduced this project to medical students of Medicine University in Hue City of Thua Thien-Hue Province in the central on June 16.


The project will be carried out by the ministry, Vietnam Youth Union and Young Doctor Association.


Pham Van Tac of the ministry said that selected young doctors will be signed a long-term contract to work for state-run hospitals and receive free training. In addition volunteered doctors will be granted practice permit.



Around 500 young doctors will be sent to 62 poor districts of 20 provinces for the first phase of the project starting now to 2016.
