(VEN) – On October 22, 2013, Ministry of Finance’s General Department of Taxation and the Ministry of Public Security’s Anti-Crime Police General Department co-organized a five-year preliminary conference on the implementation of the coordination between the General Department of Taxation and Anti-Crime Police General Department in the fight against the violations of tax laws and tax crimes.
After five-year implementation of regulations on coordination of the fight and prevention of tax violations, the police has discovered and coordinated with the tax agencies to handle 218 criminal cases and 10,155 administrative penalties, reimbursing for more than VND782.6 billion to the state budget. In particular, the crimes of tax evasion in the business community accounted for nearly 1,000 (nearly seven percent of the total of economic crimes nationwide), damaging dozens of trillion dong.
In the coming time, the two departments will further promote cooperation to overcome the existing limitations via consolidating teams of qualified professional staff members who are able to detect and handle violations of tax laws in time, bettering tax law propaganda programs, and applying appropriate sanctions to violations of tax laws./.
