Asian Advertising Congress 2013 opens in Hanoi

On November 11, the 28th Asian Advertising Congress opened at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi with the participation of nearly 400 delegates from 13 member countries and territories of the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA), and representatives from the media and advertising fraternity in Asia and around the world.


The four-day event will put the spotlight on re-engineering advertising. It will also include a special session on the digital media landscape titled “Redefining digital: Mankind’s third biggest revolution”.

AdAsia 2013 gathers 20 leading lecturers from giant communication groups such as Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. They will give lectures on advertising, communications related to news and events in Asia.

Specifically, the English football club Manchester United will contribute to AdAsia 2013 a lecture titled “Managing a global brand across Asia – Manchester United’s story”. The presentation will be made by Mr. Jamie Reigle, MU’s Managing Director for Asia. Responsible for the management and development of MU’s business in the Asia – Pacific region, Mr. Reigle focuses on the strategic direction and business communications of the club’s global brand, as it continues to grow in popularity.

This is the first time for Vietnam to host an AdAsia Congress. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh affirmed that the event offered opportunities for Vietnam to promote its image, trademarks and businesses to the world, as the country is integrating deeply and widely into the world./.
