Diplomatic car registration fee reaches 15 percent

(VEN) – The Ministry of Finance recently made public new registration fees for cars with diplomatic, foreign and international number plates of foreign organizations and individuals. The new fees will take effect on December 1, 2013.







The fees will range from 10-15 percent for first-time registration, following regulations of centrally-controlled provincial or municipal people’s councils.


As for cars with foreign number plates of foreigners (which are not specified in Provision 2, Article 4, Decree 45/2011/ND-CP and do not include diplomatic representative offices, consulate offices and representative offices of United Nations organizations), who have paid the registration fee for the first time and now want to transfer their cars to other organizations or individuals in Vietnam, the car recipient must pay the two-percent ownership registration fee.


The Ministry of Finance also regulates that cars with diplomatic, foreign and international number plates of foreign organizations and individuals (which are specified in Provision 2, Article 4, Decree 45/2011/ND-CP) and want to transfer their cars to other organizations or individuals in Vietnam, the car recipient must pay the first-time registration fee, which ranges from 10-15 percent, according the regulations of centrally-controlled provincial and municipal people’s councils./.
