Hai Duong in the last 10 months lured 17 projects of foreign direct investment (FDI), including 11 registered investment projects inside and the rest outside industrial parks with a total capital of over USD60 million, up 11% over the whole 2012.

The projects, with small capital scale, mainly focused on production and trading of mechanical equipment, automotive and electronic components, etc.

However, additional capital from 12 active projects reached nearly USD100 million.

FDI enterprises obtained over USD2.4 billion of turnover and USD1.8 billion of export value, paid more than VND1,500 billion to the state budget.

Hai Duong since early this year has also recovered four FDI projects with a total capital of USD9.89 million and is now considering handling a number of projects with slow implementation and ineffective operation.

There are now 252 FDI projects with a total registered investment of more than USD5.81 billion in the province. Executed investment has reached USD2.7 billion, equivalent to 46.5% of total registered investment. More than 200 projects have been put into production and business, creating jobs for over 125,000 direct laborers.
