Lacquer paintings by Japanese artist Saeko Ando are now on display in the capital city of Hanoi.

According to the organizer, Saeko will offer a new insight into herself, proudly presenting, through her work, her Japanese side. Saeko’s work usually depicts images of the natural world that often go unnoticed.

Saeko Ando mastered the art of lacquer during her 18 years in Hanoi, and aims to introduce the fascinating method to the world through her exhibitions, lectures, and the symposia she attends.

She has often appeared in magazines and on television in Japan and Vietnam. She is the first foreign member of the Hanoi Art Association.

“Japan in Me” will run at the Japan Foundation at 27 Quang Trung Street in Hoan Kiem District until December 1.

Admission is free.
