(VEN) – Vietnam Economic News’ Hoa Le spoke with Strozaeva Lubov Viktorovna – the director of the technological innovation in Russia project and head of the Russian business delegation on the occasion of the delegation’s visit to Vietnam from October 27 to November 6 to promote bilateral cooperation in science and technology.
What is the purpose of your visit to Vietnam this time?
This visit aims to support businesses from Vietnam and Russia in developing business cooperation in advanced technology and applying best industrial practices in Vietnamese enterprises and increasing integration and business cooperation opportunities in technological innovation in the two countries.
The delegation includes leading Russian technology businesses operating in different areas, such as AlkorBio Group, Sinvotek and NIIPAV. These companies are willing to work with Vietnamese businesses in development and application of the latest Russian technologies in Vietnam.
What role does scientific and technological cooperation play in Vietnamese-Russian economic relations?
The process of strengthening economic and scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and Vietnam has been positive. Russia is concerned about the development of industrial and investment cooperation with Vietnam and wants to develop cooperative relations qualitatively and quantitatively especially in the field of research and use of modern technology.
Russian initiatives and inventions were applied in a number of industrial and scientific and technological fields in Vietnam to benefit Vietnam.
Apart from cooperation in technology transfers and training technicians on new technology in Russia for Vietnam, during this visit, many Russian companies expressed the wish to establish Russian-Vietnamese joint ventures. The potential for cooperation in this field between the two countries is huge.
What are key parts of bilateral technological cooperation?
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Vietnam on November 12 and witness the signing of a series of cooperation documents opening a new phase of bilateral economic, trade relations. |
Technological cooperation embraces biotechnology, medical technology and eco-technology. Previously, the two countries exchanged and cooperated in the development and research of machinery manufacturing technology specifically designed for the Ministry of Defense.
However, nowadays Russian high technologies are supplied to a variety of industries, not just for the military. I think that the two countries should spend more time to discuss concrete future cooperation orientations. As for Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology will define which technologies Vietnam has a demand for. Based on that, we can promote business delegation exchanges related to technological fields in which Vietnam is interested.
The two countries have a demand for establishing trade, investment and technological relations between small to medium-sized businesses and opening dialogues on important scientific, technological and technological innovation cooperation issues between Vietnamese and Russian expert communities./.
