The resettlement policy framework of the Central Highlands Poverty Reduction Project funded by World Bank has been approved by the Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai recently.
The project will be implemented in the 26 poorest districts in 6 provinces of the Central Highlands region, including Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.
In Quang Ngai, the project shall be carried out in the mountainous communes bordering the highlands provinces, consisting of Son Nham, Son Thanh, Son Linh, Son Cao, Son Ky (Son Ha district), Son Mua, Son Long, Son Mau, Son Lien, Son Tinh (Son Tay district) and Ba Kham, Ba Trang, Ba Le, Ba Giang and Ba To (Ba To district).
The main goal of the project is to improve the livelihoods of poor households in the project area. It concentrates on four components of infrastructure development, sustainable livelihoods development, capacity building and communication.
As tentatively planned, the project will be implemented in the period of 2014-2018 with a total investment capital of approximately 16 million dollars.
