Vietnam to host the International X-Games Tournament

VietNamNet Bridge – More than 1,000 athletes from 21 countries and the host will attend the HCM City open international X-Games 2013 on November 29-30, announced by the organizing board on October 28.

X-Games (extreme sports) is a healthy, useful playing ground for young people who are passionate about street art. Every year, many large-scale X-Games tournaments are held worldwide. X-games has been imported into Vietnam for a long time but until now, a professional and large-scaled event will be held in HCM City.


Jointly organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, the Singaporean Sports Federations and sponsors, the HCM City X-Games 2013 will consist of four sports categories: Roller Sport, Hiphop – Breakdance, Beatbox and Parkour.


Over 1,000 athletes from 22 countries such as Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Australia, New Zealand, Laos and Cambodia have registered for the event.


Vietnamese athletes will compete in the qualifier round on November 15 and 16 at the University for Sport and Physical Training II Thu Duc in HCM City.


The semi-finals and finals will take place on November 29 and 30. The Awards Gala will be held on the night of December 1 at Phu Tho Stadium.


The Gala will have the presence of singer Dam Vinh Hung, the bands White Noise and Titanium, as well as Korean legendary Roller Sport artist Kim Sung Jin.
