Investors who have investment projects on Phu Quoc Island in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Kien Giang will receive the same kind of preferential treatment accorded to investors in industrial parks, export processing zones and economic zones, decided the PM.


PM Nguyen Tan Dung has also approved investment in roads, airports and seaport systems, socio-economic development, health, education and urban environmental programmes from local budget, central budget and other capital sources in the 2014-15 period.

VN ranks fifth in Cambodia investment


As of the end of this year, Vietnamese enterprises had registered to invest US$3 billion in 126 projects in Cambodia, making Viet Nam the fifth-largest investor in Cambodia, according to the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Cambodia.


Vietnamese enterprises’ projects are mostly in agriculture, forestry, energy, mineral mining, finance, banking and telecommunications.


The association targets to increase investment in Cambodia to more than $4 billion in 2015.

Ha Noi grows 1 billion flowers a year


Ha Noi plants 1-1.1 billion flowers and 1 – 1.2 million ornamental trees a year.


Up to 80 per cent of flowers and ornamental trees are supplied to local residents and the rest are sold to other provinces and cities.


The capital city also exports roses, chrysanthemum and gladiolus to China and Cambodia.
