Tet Gifts Sent to Workers, Martyrs and Policy-Priority Families

Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with many unions donated gifts on January 15 to impoverished workers, martyrs and policy-priority for Lunar New Year.

The Committee, along with the board of directors of Buddhism and the Advisory Committee for Poor People in District 4 and District 11, gave 200 Tet holiday gifts worth VND 500,000 each for people in the Binh My Commune. They also donated 100 gifts worth VND 50,000 each for people in Hoa Phu Commune.


The Committee also collaborated with the Union of Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to donate 200 presents (a total worth of VND 100 million) for people in Nhi Binh Commune of Hoc Mon District.


The Committee also visited communes of Da Phuoc and Quy Duc in Binh Chanh District. During the visit, the organization donated 600 presents with total cost of VND 300 million for the policy-priority residents.


Ms. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union, visited and donated 20 presents for underprivileged women in Tang Nhon Phu A Ward who are unable to return home for Tet.


This year, Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Union, Women Cultural House and Women Newspaper donated 4,062 presents, total worth of VND 1.5 billion, for policy-priority families, women with disabilities and impoverished workers unable to return home for the holiday.


Ho Chi Minh City War Veterans Association also held two delegations to participate in donations for the holidays.
