On 19/2, in Hanoi, Center of Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV) launched a short film to call on people to work together to stop the killing of tigers by “saying no to tiger bone glue”.
The main character of the movie is a newly appointed member of Board of Directors of a company. In the first meeting, the character gave tiger bone glue to colleagues to make impression. However, the gift was not well-received. He made a bad image of himself.
With the message “using tiger bone glue does not make you more impressive”, the short film criticized backward views of a majority of people, who believed that tiger bone glue is not only good medicine, but also as a way to “show” success or position of themselves with their friends and colleagues. At the same time, the short film called on people to inform about violations of tiger to the authorities or free hotline 1800 1522.
“Some people believe that using tiger bone glue for healing is attractive, classy. But it is groundless. It is time to awaken, to think and act based on the scientific basis and in accordance with civilized era”, said Ms Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung, deputy director of ENV.
