A group of students from Tran Phu Highschool (Hai Phong) proposing the initiatives of recycling used empty milk cartons has won the first prize at Actions for Earth: Global Youth Summit.
Ms. Dang Minh Hang said, the idea of recycling empty milk cartons came to her mind when she watched television news on an enterprise yearning to patch leaking roofs by using empty milk cartons. Excited by the idea’s environmental message, Ms. Hang and her team worked on information collection and proposal formulation.
Presenting to the panel of judges and international contestants, the Vietnamese team hopes that Vietnamese young people will have more opportunities to participate in environmental protection and gain higher public confidence on their ideas and capability.
Appreciating the proposal of Vietnamese team, a Singapore foundation offers investment and support for the team with the aim of a future efficient project that can reach nationwide scale.
Held in Singapore, 450 participants coming from 13 countries attended the summit, which was organized by the Hemispheres Foundation.
Actions for Earth: Global Youth Summit held in Singapore attracted 450 participants from 13 countries and their initiatives and solutions for environmental protection. As required by the summit organizer, student delegations proposed their solutions for environmental protection and presented their ideas for the chance of winning prize worth 2500 SGD (41 million VND).
