PANO – General Chia Mon, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Cambodian Royal Army cum Commander of Military Zone 4, on March 17th led a delegation to meet with the Steering Committee of the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
Deputy Head of the Central Highlands Steering Committee Tran Viet Hung informed the Cambodian delegates of the socio-economic, political, security and national defence situations in the Central Highlands region and positive results in conducting cooperation between provinces in the region and the Northeast Cambodia over the past time.
General Chia Mon reiterated the significance of the great contributions of the Vietnamese Party, State, volunteer troops and people to help Cambodia overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime and develop socio-economy at present.
The two sides also reached consensus on speeding up the border demarcation and marker planting, and economic and education cooperation, as well as teaming up to crush all false allegations and hostile plots that drive a wedge between the two peoples.
