DeepBlue set to change Vietnamese perceptions of orchestra

(CPV) – Australian orchestra DeepBlue will showcase their unique brand of orchestra for in Hanoi on April 8 before traveling to the Hue Festival.


One of the finalists on Australia’s Got Talent in 2011, DeepBlue is part band, part orchestra and part theatre. It marries the traditional string section of the orchestra with a 5th section – digital and electronics. It is a rich mix of classical, pop and film music delivered with magnificent sound, lighting, images and stories. DeepBlue has broken free from the constraints of a traditional orchestra to provide an interactive and audience-driven experience.


“It’s such our honour to be invited to perform at the opening ceremony of Hue Festival 2014. We also feel privileged to have 3 shows at Tay Thai Hoa and Cung An Dinh stages at festival prime time. We very much look forward to this international cultural exchange in this beautiful, ancient city”, Greta Kelly, DeepBlue violinist shared.


Besides performing at the Hue Festival, the Australian Embassy in Hanoi is pleased to present DeepBlue at the Voice of Vietnam theatre so that people in Hanoi have a chance to enjoy their unique show. There are two workshops with Vietnamese and international music students in the capital.

According to a press release issued by the Australian Embassy on March 31, DeepBlue, Australia’s string-rock sensation, remix originals, pieces from around the world and Aussie classics with lush strings, big beats and rock n’ roll. There’s no conductor, there’s no music stands for the performers to hide behind, it’s all about performing and allowing the audience to get a more intimate sense of the music. The visual and theatrical elements interact with the music and through the performers to make up the total DeepBlue experience.


Moreover, it has a unique way of communicating with audiences using their ground-breaking web app, the Electronic Show Program (ESP). Audiences use mobile devices to access the ESP that is full of information about DeepBlue’s music and opportunities to communicate their feelings about the Who Are You show and to share who they are.


Using this they received 10,000 responses (1 every 2 seconds) in their recent Brisbane shows./.
