According to the report of Haiphong-based Vietnam LGE Co., Ltd at the recent working session with city leaders, up to this moment, the project has fulfilled 46% of set plan. Under this plan, the company’s factories will run trial production in July 2014 with major construction items comprising 2 partner’s factories, 2 LGE’s factories, parking area, two container yards and auxiliary works. Six main products of the company are washing machine, vacuum cleaner, air conditioner, television, phone and audio equipment for automobiles. Particularly in period 2014-2015, the company will focus on exports with two main products of washing machine and vacuum cleaner. It is slated that the Company will fetch USD 600 million in turnover in 2015, USD 1.8 billion in 2016 and USD 3 billion in 2020. Once the plant comes into official operation, the company is forecast to recruit about 2,000 laborers in 2015 and 8,000 workers in period 2018-2019. Currently, 1,300 workers are working on the construction site under this Project with the majority of whom are Vietnamese. The Company is also devising labor training and recruitment plan to serve the Project.
