PANO – The Government of Japan will grant non-refundable aid for 7 educational projects in Vietnam and fire engines for 5 provinces under a 799,048 USD contract signed on March 19th at the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi.
Under this contract, 10 second-hand fire engines, totally worth 104,145 USD, will be allocated to Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Lang Son and Ninh Binh.
Besides, projects to upgrade 5 poorly equipped primary schools in Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc provinces will also be funded.
The two other funded projects in Quang Binh Province include the building of 3 classrooms for Co Trang School in Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district, and 2 other classrooms for Ha Vi School in Dan Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district. These projects aim to improve the quality of education for ethnic minority students and the capability of teachers. Notably, the projects will provide teaching and studying devices and notebooks for the schools, and open a training course on managing classes and teaching Vietnamese as a second language.
At the signing ceremony, the Japanese chargé d’affaires in Vietnam Hideo Suzuki hoped that the inked projects would be more fruitful in the time to come, becoming typical grassroots cooperation projects between Japan and Vietnam.
