Within the entire activities of Vietnam-Phu Yen seafood festival 2014, at the provincial library, Phu Yen Department of culture-sports-tourism organizes the week of exhibiting books on seafood and Vietnam sea-islands.

During the book exhibiting week, more than 1,000 documents and books have been mobilized from various sources like the General Bureau of Seafood, the department of agriculture and rural development, the provincial border guard post, the provincial library, among the documents, about 150 books are about the Party, the history of various periods and the province’s social-economic development on the 39th anniversary of Phu Yen liberating day (April 1st, 1975-April 1st, 2014) and the tradition of drinking water-remembering the sources on the Death Anniversary Day of King Hung (March 10th Lunar calendar); more than 500 documents and books from the national and international sources are also introduced at the exhibition, all about the sectors of breeding and planting, exploiting, catching, processing and preserving aqua-products as well as the scientific-technical achievements of Vietnam aqua-product sector. Particularly, during the book exhibiting week, there are nearly 400 books on the coastal culture, Vietnam’s sovereignty on Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, nearly 20 documents introducing the profession of exploitation, processing oceanic tuna in Phu Yen.


Mr. Ho Van Tien, director of Phu Yen department of culture-sports-tourism cum vice chairman of the organizing board of Vietnam-Phu Yen seafood festival 2014, let known, “the book exhibiting week on Vietnam aqua-product and sea-islands lasts till April 5th. With the diversified and plentiful document sources, the event will supply to readers the knowledge on sea, islands of Vietnam; contributing to preserving the sea-island sovereignty of Vietnam; contributing to the propagation of preserving the nation’s sea and island’s sovereignty”.


* At Hung Dao Movie Theater, the provincial center of film broadcasting organizes the week of showing films on VietnamSea and islands.


Right after the opening ceremony, the center broadcasts documentaries of: Hoang Sa-Truong Sa, the venue carving Vietnam soul; VietnamSea and islands; Sea pollution. These precious documentaries show the viewpoint, advocacy of Vietnam Party and Statein developing sea economy, preserving the entire territory of the Nation’s sea and islands. Particularly from 8.30pm to 10pm March 28th, audience will be enjoying the film “Looking outwards the ocean“, whose content is between the period of 1908 and 1910, when President Ho Chi Minh taught at Duc Thanh School (Phan Thiet) and bore the great willing of seeking for a way to save the country. The film showing week on Vietnam sea and island is shown on mobile basis in Song Cau town, the districts of Tuy An and Dong Hoa till the end of April 5th.
