(VOV) -Vietnam is keeping a close watch on the situation in Ukraine and Crimea as it develops, and hopes all issues will be resolved peacefully.

The statement was made by Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh on March 21 when answering reporters’ queries on Vietnam’s response to Crimea, Sevastopol accession to Russia.

“We want every issue to be resolved peacefully in accordance with fundamental principles of international law and people’s legitimate expectations for stability and peace in the region and the world,” the official said.
