Nhan Dan Online – Vietnamese 18 year old badminton player, Pham Cao Cuong, has climbed to 5th place in the latest World Badminton Federation (WBF) Junior Rankings.

Cuong rose from 9th position to 5th, the highest ever position held by Vietnam on the world junior list, thanks to his outstanding performance at the Asian Junior Championships, which concluded in Taipei on February 23, where he got through to the quarterfinals, earning him 3,000 points and bumping him up to a total of 17,608 points.

In April, he is scheduled to compete in the World Junior Badminton Championships, which is a good opportunity for him to sharpen his skills and improve his rankings.

Cuong is seen as the successor to Nguyen Tien Minh, the top badminton player currently sat at 8th place in the BWF World Rankings.
