THUA THIEN HUE (VNS) — Two workers were killed and four others injured yesterday after inhaling methane at a paper mill at Phu Bai Industrial Zone in Thua Thien-Hue Province.
An initial investigation revealed that one of the workers had been cleaning the factory’s underground facility used for filtering paper pulp and became unconscious.
Five other workers entered the factory without wearing protective clothing and also passed out.
They were later pulled out by rescuers who had to navigate a small entrance to the underground facility.
It is unclear how long it took for rescuers to arrive at the scene.
The workers are employees of the Vinh Phat Joint Stock Company.— VNS
