The Program “Fireflies lighting up the future of Phu Yen” was recently held by the ProvincialCenter of Social Work for children (under the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs ) at Phu Hoa District People’s Committee Hall.
Mr. Nguyen Phat, Director of the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Mr. Nguyen Van Hoc, Vice Chairman of Phu Hoa district People's Committee donating money from the units and individuals to 5 orphaned and studious students.
The program supported 86 million dongs and hundreds of gifts for 5 orphaned students with the spirit of overcoming difficulties to study well and families with particularly difficult circumstances. Student Nguyen Thi Truc Thi (grade 6, Nguyen The Bao Secondary School, Hoa Thang commune ) was donated 26 million dongs; Nguyen Thi Minh Huong (grade 7, Hoa An Secondary School, Hoa An commune )16.7 million dongs; Ly Tam Nhu ( Grade 3, Hoa Quang 1 Primary School, Hoa Quang Bac commune) 15.3 million dongs; Ho Thom (Grade 5, Hoa Hoi Primary School, Hoa Hoi commune) 15.3 million dongs; and Vo Thi Hong Gam (grade 9, Luong Van Chanh Secondary School, Hoa Tri commune) 14.7 million dongs.
This is the first humanitarian activity of program” Fireflies lighting up the future of Phu Yen” in 2014, aimed at mobilizing the community to join hands in adding strength to orphaned students to go to school.
