The Managing Board of Project “Improving the ability of computer use and public internet access in Vietnam” has recently held the Community internet festive day with women, funded by Bill-Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) in Phu Yen provincial library.

More than 100 female delegates in Tuy Hoa city take part in the Internet day to discuss and evaluate the benefits of Internet access for social life in general and women in particular. Delegates are guided to use computer in manipulation, searching for useful information on the internet to better serve learning, business and contribute to improving lives.


Under the plan, the Internet day is held by the managing Board of project “Improving the ability of computer use and public internet access in Vietnam” at the libraries in the province from April 21st to April 27th, to help people in disadvantaged areas to effectively get access to information technology.


Ms. Pham Thi Kim Anh, Director of Provincial Library informed: By the end of 2013, from the receipt of the project “Improving the ability of computer use and public internet access in Vietnam”, the province had 38 library points sponsored computer with broadband internet connection and free ancillary services. In particular, the provincial library was equipped with 40 computers, libraries in districts were also equipped with 10 computers for each point, communal libraries were equipped with 5 computers for each point to provide free internet service.
