Japan: Biggest Investor in Vietnam

The Ministry of Planning and Investment said Japanese investors had 2,237 valid projects with a total registered capital of US$ 35.38 billion as of March 2014, making Japan the largest investor among 101 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.


Japan invested in 48 out of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam, excluding offshore oil and gas projects. Thanh Hoa province had only eight Japan-invested projects but the investment capital amounted to US$9.67 billion, followed by Binh Duong with 224 projects and US$4.18 billion.
