The U.S. Mission to Vietnam has recently called for applications for the 2015-2016 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.
Hubert H. Humphrey is a one-year, non-degree, full scholarship program offered to promising mid-career professionals who have a proven track record of leadership and a strong commitment to public service.
Participants will spend one year at a leading U.S. university working in a self-designed program of independent study and participate in professional affiliations off-campus, field trips, special workshops, and seminars in their field of study.
Candidates will be selected based on their potential for national leadership and commitment to public service in either the public or private sector.
The program calls for candidates in a variety of fields, including agricultural and rural development, economic development/finance and banking, communications/journalism, educational administration, public health policy and management, and HIV/AIDS policy and prevention.
Eligible applicants – aged between 28 and 45 – must have a university degree with at least five years of substantial professional experience prior to August 2015.
They can have limited or no prior experience in the United States but must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities and a record of public service together with strong English skills with a minimum paper-based TOEFL score of 525 or iBT TOEFL score of 71 for the selection in Vietnam.
The program provides international travel, tuition and university fees, accident/health insurance, monthly maintenance allowance, and funds for books and professional activities.

An information session will be held in Ho Chi Minh City at 1:30 pm on May 15 at the Multi-Purpose Room, U.S. Consulate General, on the 8th floor of Diamond Plaza Building at 34 Le Duan Street in District 1; and in Hanoi at 2:00 pm on May 16 at the Multi-Purpose Room on the 1st floor of Rose Garden Tower at 170 Ngoc Khanh Street.
