A festival themed “Lang Co – World Beautiful Bay” officially started in Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province in the evening of May 24.
The two-day event includes sporting games, a culinary festival, an artistic photo exhibition, a display of local handicraft items, kite flying and folk games, etc.
The festival, held by the People’s Committee of Phu Loc District in cooperation with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Tourism Association of Thua Thien Hue Province, is an event in response to the Hue Festival 2014 and to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being recognised as one of the most beautiful bays in the world by the World Bays Club.
Since 2009, Lang Co has attracted 30 tourism projects with a total capital of over VND35,000 billion and welcomed more than 80,000 arrivals per year. Especially, number of cruise tourists to Hue has sharply increased. The province currently focuses on building brand name of Lang Co tourism area at national level and creates motivation to call for investment aiming at developing sustainably the coastal area’s economy in accordance with local potentialities and advantages.
