On June 19, the Ban Mai Education System, Kim Dong Publishing House and the Viet Heart Fund under Vietnam Television signed a cooperation agreement on developing The Morning Library System in disadvantaged areas nationwide.
The agreement aims to bring knowledge to children in remote and disadvantaged areas by promoting reading culture in the community. Specific goals include improving the intellect and ethics of young people, and contributing to reduction of the gap between information richness and financial circumstances in regions nationwide.
As scheduled, one 100m2 library with 20,000 books will be built each year with an investment of VND300 million. By 2025, ten libraries will be built with a total capital of VND3 billion.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, representative from Ban Mai Education System said that the projects will help people understand more about the significance of libraries to people in remote areas and ethnic students who do not have much access to reading culture.
Since its commencement in 2011, the project has presented a reading room to the Sponsor Center III in Hanoi with almost 2,000 books and the Morning Library at the Huong Son B Primary School in My Duc district, Hanoi./.
