It also presented rewards to five disabled children who overcome hardship to excel in their studies.

Director of the Fund priest Phan Khac Tu spoke of the difficult task entrusted to officers and soldiers who are garrisoned on remote sea and islands, and noted that the gifts to their children will help them stand firm to safeguard national sovereignty.

He announced a three-month fund-raising campaign aiming to improve the living conditions of islanders’ disabled children, enable them to go to school, and generate jobs for them.

The campaign will last through to August 30.
