Hanoi will create the best possible conditions for Polish businesses to invest in the locality, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen The Thao has said.

Receiving Katarzyna Kacperczyk, Poland’s Under-secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi on June 11, Thao said Hanoi hopes to further strengthen cooperation with Poland, especially in education-training, urban management, transportation, relic preservation, environmental pollution treatment, shipbuilding and maritime transport.

Thao said during more than 20 years of renewal process, Vietnam and Poland have obtained significant achievements in many fields. Vietnam has received great support from Poland in the past struggle for national independence and the current development process, noting that more than 4,000 Vietnamese students and workers have completed training in Poland.

Regarding the current tension in the East Sea, Thao urged Poland to support Vietnam’s legitimate rights at international forums in the struggle against China’s illegal placement of Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling oil rig in Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone and continental shelf.

Katarzyna acknowledged Hanoi’s recommendations and said Poland will do its utmost to realise these targets, contributing to fostering friendship between the two countries and two capital cities.

Katarzyna led a delegation of more than 50 Polish businesses in search of investment and trade opportunities in Vietnam. They are mainly operating in food processing, green technology, waste treatment, electricity generation from garbage, and mining.
