The provincial Labor Confederation was asked to minimize collective work stoppages and complaints demanding rights of laborers.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee, on the morning of June 26 had a working session with the provincial Labor Confederation on movements of workers, civil servants, and laborers (WCSL) and trade union activities.
Also in attendance were Mr. Nguyen Van Que, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and representatives of some departments, boards, and branches of the province.
Speaking to conclude the working session, Mr. Hien appreciated the results of trade union activities and WCSL movements in the past time.
He asked the provincial Labor Confederation
- to further enhance the position and role of trade unions before the circle of employers and workers and laborers (WL);
- to well organize emulation movements, strongly innovate trade unions’ activities within the framework of law to meet laborers’ feelings and aspirations;
- to promptly convey proposals to authorities at all levels and employers to seek measures to well resolve issues related to laborers;
- to actively carry out propaganda and instruct WL in working skills to change the working style towards industrialization;
- to minimize collective work stoppages and complaints demanding rights of laborers, especially in enterprises.
The provincial People’s Committee chairman agreed to the provincial Labor Confederation’s proposal for piloting the building of cultural houses for WL in industrial parks.
Functional branches should step up social housing construction and create maximum conditions for laborers wishing to buy houses.
The Department of Education and Training should coordinate with the provincial Labor Confederation to consider WL’s need to have their children taken care of and abolish the payment of fees for learning in improper systems with respect to children of WCSL lacking permanent residence in the area.
The province will continue to fund the establishment of grassroots trade unions and propagandize law to the provincial Labor Confederation’s WCSL.
