The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam on June 11 handed over to the Vietnamese side an integrated information management system to support the Government’s effort in raising the competitiveness of the economy.

This is part of a 1.5 million USD project funded by the KOICA’s non-refundable assistance to establish the system for the Competition Management Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Over the past 20 years, through KOICA-funded projects, the RoK Government has helped Vietnam establish stock trading floors, supported its economic research institutes and provided the country with policy consultancy on competition law and investment activities.

The system will help integrate information and affairs related to unfair competition, trade and consumer protection together, helping heighten the effectiveness of the work.

According to Kim Sik Hyon, acting Chief Representative of the KOICA in Vietnam, the project will help raise the efficiency of trade and investment activities and consumer protection in the country.-VNA
