VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on June 12 received Norwegian Ambassador Stale Torstein Risa and Saudi Arabian Ambassador Salah A. H. Sharhan, who came to bid farewell at the end of their tenures in Viet Nam.

Receiving the Norwegian Ambassador, PM Dung higly valued contributions of the Ambassador in promoting the bilateral relations, asserting that Viet Nam will do its utmost to accelarate the relationship more effectively.



He hoped that the two sides will enhance cooperation at international and regional forums and Norway will speak up against China’s violation of international law when illegally placing its drilling rig in Viet Nam’s waters.


They also suggested that the two nations bring into full play the political consultation mechanism, strengthen cooperation in economics, trade, investment, Official Development Assistance (ODA), education, science and technology.


Mr. Stale Torstein Risa said the achievements Viet Nam has gained in recent times have raised the country’s role and status.


He proposed the Vietnamese Governemnt create favorable condtions for the two nations’ businesses to strengthen connection in such potential fields as telecommunication and energy as well as in response to climate change, sea level rise and environmental protection.

Welcoming Ambassador A. H. Sharhan, PM Dung suggested the two countries boost partnership in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, tourism and ODA.


He confirmed support for the launch of a direct flight between the two countries.


He also affirmed that Viet Nam is ready to provide laborers for Saudia Arabia and facilitate Saudi Arabian investors’ long-term operation in Viet Nam.


Mr. Salah A. H. Sharhan lauded achievements of the two sides over the past few years, especially their success in raising two-way trade to US$1.5 billion.


He revealed that Saudi Arabia always regards Viet Nam as a crucial partner and makes every effort to promote cooperative relations with Viet Nam in all fields./.
