Truong Dinh National Hero Temple at Tinh Khe, Son Tinh district (now belonging to Quang Ngai city), Quang Ngai province has just been recognized as a provincial-level historical relic by the Quang Ngai PPC.

National hero Truong Dinh was born in 1820 in Tu Cung hamlet, Tinh Khe Commune, Son Tinh district (now as Quang Ngai city), Quang Ngai Province. In 1844 he moved southward to Long An and Tien Giang provinces where he gathered poor farmers and peasants into groups to make plantations and combat the French troops at that time. He and his men many times frightened French troops with numerous resounding feats. He was honoured by common people as “French Fighting Marshal the Great.”

In a battle on 20 August 1864 he killed himself with his sword after being deadly injured to deter from a life of a captive. At that year, he was only 44 years old. He was buried in Go Cong town, Tien Giang province, and his death anniversary was annually commemorated by local people as a sacred ceremony.

In his home village, the ceremony for his commemoration is organized on 20 August every year. In 2007, a new temple was also spaciously built at Tinh Khe commune, Son Tinh district by the local people and government.
