“Vietnam House” in Ottawa, capital city of Canada, attracted almost 400 visitors in only six hours of opening to welcome visitors on June 8.
“Vietnam House” located at No. 85, Glebe Avenue is a 101-year old ancient house, featuring unique architecture as designed by the famous Canadian architect W.E. Noffke.
The opening of “Vietnam House” is organized annually by Ottawa city to honour the architectural heritage of the city.
This year, more than 120 buildings of historical, cultural and functional importance, are opened to the public on June 7 and 8, such as: the palace of the Governor General of Canada, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Canada, the Canadian coin foundry, the US Embassy in Canada and the Bus System Operation Centre in Ottawa.
This year is the first time “Vietnam House” has opened to public. People in Ottawa have been pleasantly surprised to discover Vietnam’s cultural features right in the heart of Ottawa. Great interest has been sparked by displays of Vietnam’s exquisite handicraft products, paintings and photos promoting the peaceful and hospitable nature of Vietnam.
The staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada also enthusiastically introduced the beauty of the land and people to visitors. Many visitors expressed a desire to visit Vietnam to experience the culture and to enjoy the beauty of the land and people personally./.
