(VOVworld) – Vietnamese National Assembly wants to cooperate closely with the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Secretariat to successfully host the Union’s 132nd Assembly next year. Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Relations Commission, Tran Van Hang, told the Union’s Director for Member Parliaments and External Relations, Ms Anda Filip, in Hanoi on Saturday. Ms Filip said the Secretariat welcomed any questions from Vietnam and wished to learn from Vietnam’s experience in the organization of the event. She wished to cooperate closely with relevant Vietnamese agencies to ensure successful organization of the Assembly meeting.
Speaking at the first training course on IPU Assembly organization, Chairman Hang said Vietnam’s first time hosting of such a unique event required accumulation of experience and updated information. This is the first in a series of training workshops to provide necessary information and expertise for Vietnamese agencies. Participants will be updated with work progress, lines of responsibility and international experience in the hosting of previous IPU Assembly meetings.
