(VOVworld) – All five members of the Vietnamese team were honored at the 13th International Olympiad of the Russian language in Moscow on Wednesday.
This year’s contest attracted 206 high school students from 29 countries. Nguyen Thi Dat, Deputy Director of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute in Hanoi and head of the Vietnamese delegation, said all 5 Vietnamese candidates are at the same levels despite of coming from different provinces. The Vietnamese team won three first prizes and two second prizes. The members of the Vietnamese team received two more first prizes at the sub-contests titled “Young public speakers” and “Young poem readers”. Magarita Rutsevskaia, Principal of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, congratulated the Vietnamese team on their success:”I’m very impressive when mentioning the Vietnamese team. The Pushkin State Russian Language Institute in Hanoi is working very well, that’s why the Vietnamese candidates won high prizes.”
The 13th International Olympiad of the Russian language took place from June 6-11 to commemorate International Russian Language Day and the 215th birthday of Russian writer, Alexander Pushkin. The contest has been held every four years since 1972 and is funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
