Since the beginning of this year, 120 businesses on a list of 150 polluting units in Dong Nai Province have built waste water treatment facilities that meet standards, and have now been taken off the list.

The province has invested more than VND77 billion(US$3.6 million) to install 13 automatic wastewater monitors at industrial parks since 2012. The monitors have helped the province improve control pollution.

Efforts are being made by the provincial authorities to move polluting ceramics factories and slaughterhouses out of residential areas. The deadline to move these businesses was extended from Dec 2014 to Dec. 30, 2015. Livestock farms and slaughterhouses have been encouraged to move to many rural areas selected by the province to develop animal husbandry.
