A traditional art performance titled “Korea Fantasy – Sound, dance and performance” is being held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. Jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, the show will be performed by artists of Chungnam Gugak Korea Traditional Music Orchestra from Cheonan city. Founded in 1990 and now one of the Korea’s leading orchestras, some of 1,600 Chungnam Gugak domestic and international performances are highly creative, with various elements aimed at developing and bringing youthful audiences closer to traditional music and culture. During their performances in Vietnam, artists will present various traditional Korean artistic genres, such as traditional string instruments, concerts and traditional dance. “Traditional culture is the foundation of the country’s development. Through this program, I hope that Vietnamese audiences will further understand Korean traditional culture, thus contributing to promoting sustainable relations between the two nations,” said Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Jun Dae Joo. The shows took place at 19h30 on July 3 at Ben Thanh Theatre, No. 6 Mac Dinh Chi, district 1, Ho Chi Minh city and will back at 19h30 on July 6 at Au Co Art Centre, No. 8 Huynh Thuc Khang, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi. The event is also part of programs to welcome Korea-ASEAN Summit to be held this December, the 25th year of ASEAN-Korea dialogue relations, and Korea-Mekong exchange year 2014./. |
