In the morning of 24th July, the Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai hosted the national online conference with 63 provinces and cities nationwide on the implementation of the National Target Program for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (NTP- RWSS).
Madam Dinh Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of PPC chaired the meeting at the bridge point in Quang Ngai province.
In the NTP- RWSS in the period of 2012-2015, the Government sets out the targets of 85% of the rural population accessing hygienic water; 65% of rural households having hygienic latrines; 45% households owning hygienic livestock pens; 100% kindergartens, schools, health stations in rural areas having enough clean water and hygienic latrines.
Up to now, 84% of rural households use water from the clean water works, 62.5% of rural households have hygienic latrines, 96% of health stations and 90% of schools have the water supply works and sanitary latrines. Currently, there are 15,093 concentrated water systems nationwide, but only 35% of them runs well.
In the first 6 months of 2014, the number of people accessing the running water increased by nearly 9,000 ones, reaching 0.82% of the population living in rural areas.
To achieve the goal of implementation of the NTP- RWSS by 2015, the Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai asked the ministries and functional agencies to carry out the asynchronous solutions, build many types of water supply in accordance with the characteristic of different localities.
