​As reported by the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs (DoFA), the total aid value funded by foreign non-governmental organizations (NGO) in the province in the period of 2011 – June, 2014 reached 228 billion VND with 139 programs and projects.



These projects belonged to many different fields, mainly focusing on fields of health, education, agriculture, climate change, economic development and supporting treatment, medicine and gifts to the poor.


The long-term donors have implemented many large-scale projects across the province such as Plan International (socio-economic development projects),World Vision (area development programsin 3 mountainous districts of Tra Bong, Son Tay and Minh Long), East Meets West Foundation (offering scholarships), Save the children (Alive and Thrive project) and some international agencies, for example Korea International Cooperation Agency (Projects of Supporting nine Primary Schools and Management of Son Tinh General Hospital) as well.


Besides, ReSurge International, Madison Quarker Inc, VVOB, D.O.V.E. Fund, Putney Student Travel, Changing Children’s Lives, etc have significantly contributed to improving the quality of the poor people through implementing the programs of free examination and surgery for the poor, teaching English and building compassion houses.


Said by Madam Dinh Thi Loan – Vice chairwoman of the PPC in the yearly Meeting of International NGO in 2013, Quang Ngai highly appreciated thegrant aidfunded by NGOs over the world for the development of theprovincewith the target of reducing poverty and also through NGOs, Quang Ngai and its people were introduced to other countries in the world.


In the next period, Quang Ngai province continues to mobilize NGOs aid in prioritized fields, including agricultural and rural development; socio-economic development; welfare for disabled people, A.O. victims, andorphans; healthcare; communal education; natural disaster prevention; climatechange and environmental sanitation; Strives to promote and mobilize the aid of NGOs with the average set-out grant value of 70 billion VND/year.


The majority of the funding will be allocated to disadvantaged areas, mountainous communes, Ly Son island district and especially in vulnerable areas caused by natural disasters.


As in the provincial program for the promotion of foreign non-governmental organization assistance 2011 – 2017 approved by Quang Ngai PPC, to reach the proposed targets and enhance the administration and the effectiveness of cooperation with NGOs, the provincial departments, agencies and localities were asked to actively set up proposals for calling upon aid and strengthen further cooperation between localities and donors in order to implement projects and programs effectively as well.


Such an affirmation, Quang Ngai government and its people will create best conditions for international aid agencies and individuals in the humanitarian projects’ implementation as well as use the support funds in right purposes.
