(CPV) – The Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) on July 31 released that more than 100 businesses have joined hands to protect wildlife. In 2014, many large businesses such as Vingroup, Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas), Big C supermarket system, Intimex supermarket system, Canon Vietnam, Unilever Vietnam, HiPT group, Global Telecommunications Corporation (Gtel Corp), FPT Corporation, DHL Vietnam, An Binh Bank, Kaspersky Vietnam and Acecook Vietnam have partnered with ENV to protect wildlife with practical action. Vingroup and Big C supermarket usually support ENV to organize exhibitions to raise awareness for the community about protecting endangered and rare wildlife species. In June and July, 2014, many exhibitions were held at the Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, Big C Thang Long, Big C Long Bien, Big C Da Nang supermarkets attracting thousands of participants. In addition to activities and exhibitions to protect wildlife, many businesses have participated in the program “Safe area for wildlife” launched by ENV from late 2011. PV Gas has recently communicated to its more than 3,500 employees and 17 member companies across the country about not consuming wildlife in any form and actively participating in the protection of wildlife species in Vietnam with practical activities such as: reporting wildlife violation activities to the hotline or communicating and encouraging their families, relatives and friends to join the program. In July, 11 supermarkets of Intimex in four big cities including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Vinh have placed information boards in strategic locations to encourage customers to not consume wildlife and report violations to the hotline: 18001522. Ms Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung, Vice Director of ENV said that she believed that each individual, organization and business can participate in protecting wildlife most, by practical contribution./. |
